Wirtz and Reinsdorf families broke ground on the $7 billion 1901 Project, a mixed-use development on Chicago's Near West Side. Phase one includes a 6,000-seat music hall, hotel, and retail. The project will create 2,400 construction jobs and thousands of permanent jobs.
The Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City will fully close from fall 2027 for a major renovation and redesign. The closure aligns with a new downtown sports and entertainment district, including a $1.8 billion vision around the Delta Center. Salt Lake County is selling part of the property to Smith Entertainment Group for $55.4 million.
