Aviva detects record £233m in bogus insurance claims
Aviva uncovered a record £233 million in fraudulent insurance claims in 2025, including over 18,400 suspect claims across its brands. The insurer noted a rise in AI-generated images and manipulated documents, especially in motor insurance, which accounts for over 70% of detected fraud. Aviva secured 37 years of custodial and suspended sentences for the most serious fraud offences.
